Jipyong Launches Global Risk Response Center

On September 4, Jipyong launched its Global Risk Response Center to address the complex global risks faced by companies today, such as U.S.-China hegemonic competition, geopolitical conflicts, climate change, pandemics, and rapid technological shifts including artificial intelligence.  Global risks now extend beyond specific legal issues, encompassing industry, regulation, policy, and international affairs.  As a result, securing sustainable corporate growth requires strategic, multi-faceted responses. 
 
The Center provides comprehensive solutions for management, legal, and policy issues arising from cross-border transactions, including global strategy, business restructuring, import/export, and overseas investment.  It leverages the integrated expertise of Jipyong’s overseas divisions, legal expert groups, Technology Center, ESG Center, and Jipyong IP. 
 
The Center is led by Mr. Cheol JEONG, who brings extensive experience in overseas business strategy, M&A, cross-border transactions, and international investment. 
 
Co-Heads include Ms. Hyomin PAK, an expert in international trade and economic law, export control, sanctions, global regulatory compliance, ESG, climate change, supply chain risk, and public international law, gained from her experience at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Mr. Min CHUNG, who oversees GPS (Government & Public Service) and GTM (Go-To-Market) services, drawing on his research background at the Hyundai Research Institute. 
 
Key members include attorneys Mr. Beom Hee KIM, Mr. Chang Wook MIN, Ms. Ji Hye LEE, Mr. Seungmin LEE and Mr. Brian OH; Patent Attorney Mr. Dong Ju KIM; Advisor Mr. Jaejin HAN; and Senior PL Ms. Jumi LEE participate as key members of the Center.  Furthermore, the Center is supported by advisors including Mr. Seok Dong KIM (former Chairman of the Financial Services Commission); Mr. Sung Taek LIM (top ESG expert and a member of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s Trade Policy Advisory Committee); and Mr. Haeng Gyu LEE (Co-Managing Partner of Jipyong). 
 
The Center’s services focus on: ▲establishing global management strategies and business restructuring ▲managing overseas regulatory and supply chain risks ▲government and policy response and public relations ▲new overseas expansion and investment strategies ▲international trade and trade remedy operations.  The Center employs a two-track strategy: proactive risk management and consulting for prevention, and responsive measures such as emergency advisory services and dispute resolution.  In the event of supply chain, regulatory, or policy risks, the Center provides prompt analysis and actionable solutions, working closely with key government ministries such as the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 
 
Mr. Cheol JEONG stated, “Jipyong’s Global Risk Response Center will serve as the first point of contact for companies facing unforeseen risks, acting as a trusted one-stop control tower for international trade, customs, economic sanctions, export controls, overseas regulations, government engagement, and business strategy.  We aim to provide practical support to mid-sized and small enterprises, as well as K-Culture, beauty, and fashion companies expanding globally.”
