Environment

The laws and regulations imposed on the environmental sector have become increasingly complex and fragmented as the recent regulatory development includes more than the traditional regulations such as air quality, water quality, waste, soil pollution, and noise. The global trend is to proactively respond to and manage environmental, health and safety risks by implementing carbon emission control, emissions trading systems, and renewable energy policies. In Korea, laws and regulations prescribing the management, registration, and evaluation system of chemical substances and integrated management system for environmental pollution facilities have been enacted and enforced. Further, in manufacturing products, it is necessary to implement countermeasures against domestic regulations including the Act on Resource Circulation, RoHS, ELV, and other EU laws and regulations.

Through our expertise and experience, Jipyong provides comprehensive legal services including advice on environmental issues such as compliance, development approvals and permits, evaluation and assessment of the environmental risks in M&A transactions, and representation of clients in environmental disputes over soil pollution, etc.
