Mr. Sangyong Jun is a member of Jipyong’s Antitrust & Competition Group and International Practice Group. He has successfully resolved major domestic and cross-border disputes, combining rigorous analysis with creative strategies to find a path forward in challenging and complex cases.
Mr. Jun joined Jipyong in 2019 after graduating with distinction from Seoul National University’s College of Liberal Studies and School of Law. He has received the Korea Legal Awards three times and presented oral argument at a public hearing before the Supreme Court of Korea in 2024. In 2026, he completed his LL.M. at Yale Law School with outstanding academic results and was admitted to the California Bar.
Mr. Jun is deeply committed to pro bono work, dedicating more than 100 hours annually to public interest matters. His work includes the state liability case arising from the Junggok-dong murder of a homemaker, in which the Supreme Court reversed and remanded; the constitutional challenge to Article 63(1) of the Immigration Act, which resulted in a Constitutional Court ruling of constitutional incompatibility; and the “A Ground Floor for Everyone” case, in which he participated in a Supreme Court public hearing and secured a reversal and final judgment. During his LL.M. studies at Yale, he also explored the disability law, international human rights law, and procedural justice in depth.
Mr. Jun is also a member of Jipyong’s AI, Biotechnology & Healthcare Center. He has secured reversals in numerous cases, including a Supreme Court decision reversing and remanding a case concerning the interpretation of the Korean Food Code. In recognition of his work, he received a commendation from the Minister of Food and Drug Safety in 2022 and has since lectured on administrative litigation at the Ministry on multiple occasions. Since 2025, he has also served on the Ministry’s Committee on the Safety Management and Supply of Medical Products for Public Health Crisis Response.
