Jipyong Signs MOU with G&A, A law firm in Kenya

On March 19th, Jipyong LLC (hereinafter referred to as “Jipyong”) signed the Memorandum of Understanding with Kenya law firm G&A Advocates LLP (hereinafter referred to as “G&A”) to enhance legal services and networks in Kenya and the East African region. 
 
The MOU is part of strategic cooperation to effectively support Korean companies interested in entering the African market and expanding their business ahead of the "Korea-Africa Summit" in June in Korea, which will involve the leaders of 54 countries on the continent. 
 
G&A is a full-service law firm established in 2006 and which focuses on various practice areas including Dispute Resolution, Projects & Infrastructure, Real Estate & Finance, Policy Legal Compliance & Legislative Drafting, Corporate & Commercial, and Technology Media & Telecommunication providing seamless legal services for its clients. They have extensive experience in handling complex legal matters and dealing with government affairs in Kenya for both private sector and public sector clients. 
 
Through this MOU, Jipyong will provide a one-stop service to Korean companies interested in entering and investing in Africa. Cheol Jeong, Seung-min Lee and Brian Oh partners of Jipyong and Eric Gumbo, Ken Melly, Moses Kipkogei and Sylvia Kithinji partners at G&A attended the signing of MOU. 
 
Under the MOU with G&A, Jipyong will actively address the legal service needs of companies in the energy, resources, infrastructure, foreign investment, and dispute resolution sectors. It will also cooperate in various areas, such as publishing an African newsletter and hosting joint seminars.

Also, we will provide concrete and practical legal service to Korean companies for successfully entering the African market and establishing strategies on it." stated Mr. name, the head of Global group of Jipyong.  
 
“This collaboration will provide a platform for both Firms to offer unique value to their clients in Korea, Kenya and the African region and support Kenya and Korea’s mutual desire to unlock trade and investment opportunities between the two countries” stated Mr. Eric Gumbo, the Managing Partner, of G&A.  
 
Jipyong operates eight overseas branches in seven countries, the most among Korean law firms. It established an Eastern Europe team and signed MOU with AEQUO, a local law firm in Ukraine last year and plan to continue to expand overseas network.
