Jipyong Co-Hosts “2025 Middle East Construction Market Update: The Evolving Investment and Legal Landscape” with Beale & Co

On November 19, Jipyong successfully co-hosted a seminar titled “2025 Middle East Construction Market Update: The Evolving Investment and Legal Landscape” with UK law firm Beale & Co at Jipyong’s headquarters. 
 
The event reviewed the latest business and legal trends in the Middle East construction market where Korean construction companies have been increasingly active and explored practical implications for market participants. 
 
Following opening remarks by Pui-Ki Emmanuelle Ta, Secretary-General of the Korea Commercial Arbitration Board (KCAB), the panel discussion was moderated by Jinhee KIM, Senior Foreign Attorney and Head of Jipyong’s Global Practice Group.  Panelists included Jipyong attorneys Hye Jung RYU and Yong Gil KIM, Senior Foreign Attorney Yong Ik LEE, and Beale & Co’s attorneys Claire Miller and David Nitek. 
 
Hye Jung RYU specializes in M&A, corporate advisory, administrative and regulatory matters, and disputes and advisory work in construction and real estate, with expertise in overseas investment, energy and resources, environment, and international construction.  Yong Gil KIM has extensive experience across the construction industry, including contract management for overseas projects involving major construction companies, claims and payment disputes, and regulatory advisory.  Yong Ik LEE focuses on international arbitration and cross-border litigation, with strengths in disputes in construction, manufacturing, heavy equipment, automotive electronic components, and insurance. 
 
Claire Miller, Beale & Co’s Middle East Managing Partner, is a 20-year veteran of construction disputes in the Middle East and other regions, recognized as a leading lawyer in construction by Chambers Global and The Legal 500 EMEA, among others. David Nitek, Partner at Beale & Co, has broad experience in dispute resolution, including litigation and arbitration, and has been named a “Thought Leader” in the construction category by Who’s Who Legal. 
 
The panel discussion covered the Middle East investment climate and outlook, key challenges for contractors in implementing projects, recent legal developments in the region, and practical guidance on international construction arbitration.  A lively Q&A featured questions from industry participants and in-depth responses from the panel grounded in the latest developments and case examples. 
 
“We hope this seminar provided Korean companies with the practical insight they need amid fast-evolving market conditions and legal changes in the Middle East construction sector,” said Jinhee KIM.
