Hyon Min CHOI (former Head of Busan Regional Tax Office) Joins JIPYONG

On November 2, JIPYONG LLC announced that Hyon Min CHOI joined JIPYONG as a senior advisor. 
 
Mr. CHOI has dedicated his career to tax services at the National Tax Service (the “NTS”). He served as a former head of Busan Regional Tax Office after years of service as a chief director at the NTS’s various divisions including the NTS Corporate Tax Bureau and the NTS Asset Tax Bureau, the Investigation III Division at the Seoul Regional Tax Office, the Investigation II Division at the Daegu Regional Tax Office, and as a director of the legal department at the NTS. He has a plethora of knowledge and experience in tax as he handled most of the tax items during his service at the NTS. 
 
When he worked as a director of the NTS legal department, he operated the ill-managed taxation prevention system such as the taxation criteria consultation program, the taxation fact judgment and consultation system and ill-managed taxation cause analysis system to prevent investigators from arbitrarily interpreting and applying tax law in advance to secure the legitimacy of taxation and protect the rights and interests of taxpayers. 
 
In addition, he contributed to the establishment of a system favorable to taxpayers by implementing policies that promote the rights and interests of taxpayers such as half-yearly withholding tax payment system, streamlined process to return the entrusted shares to real owners, and streamlined year-end tax adjustment system.
