Jipyong’s ESG Center Successfully Held the 'Advanced Sustainability Reporting: Lecture on ESRS Implementation Guidance (Dual Materiality, Value Chain and ESRS Data Point)’

Jipyong’s ESG Center successfully held the 'Advanced Sustainability Reporting: Lecture on ESRS Implementation Guidance (Dual Materiality, Value Chain and ESRS Data Point)’ as part of Jipyong's ESG Academy on February 2nd at 2pm in the Grand Central conference room at Jipyong headquarters.  

The ESG Academy started with an opening remark from Mr. Sung Taek LIM, head of Jipyong's ESG Center, followed by Mr. Young Il JUNG, a group leader of Management & Research Group of JIPYONG ESG Center, who introduced and lectured on 'ESRS Implementation Guidance (IG) 1: Materiality Assessment', 'ESRS Implementation Guidance (IG) 2: Value Chain', and 'ESRS Implementation Guidance (IG) 3: List of ESRS Datapoint.’

IG 1 '[Draft] Materiality Assessment Implementation Guidance' introduced the dual materiality methodology proposed by EFRAG, including the meaning of impact materiality and financial materiality. In particular, it explains the organization of the sustainability issues used in the materiality assessment and the criteria used in the actual materiality assessment. IG 2 '[Draft] Value Chain' explains the concept of value chain and business relationships as applied in the ESRS and the specific details and depth of the information on value chain that should be included in the sustainability statement under the ESRS. Finally, IG 3 'List of [Draft] ESRS Data Point' outlined the data points that are linked to the disclosure requirements (DRs) of the ESRS and explained how to read the list of data points by topic (in Excel). The Academy provided Korean translation of the 3 types of implementation guidance, including translation of a total of 1,102 data points. 

Mr. Jung, a group leader of Management & Research Group of JIPYONG ESG Center said, "We hope that the ESG Academy will help companies preparing for the sustainability report to improve their understanding of the ESRS, as well as their management of ESG issues including the value chain and the application of dual materiality."
