Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) said that the establishment of public company (more than 50 shareholders) under the Companies Act will be eased. According to DICA, it will authorize the establishment of public companies for all types of businesses as of October 15, 2012. In order to register as a public company, 500,000 Kyats (USD 600) are needed as registration fee. Today, in Myanmar, only a small number of companies are registered as public companies, such as Myanmar Investment Company, Myanmar Citizens Bank, Myanmar Agribusiness, etc.
